Founded in Dallas in 1947, Dal-Tile Corporation's history is paved with milestones that led to us becoming the largest tile manufacturer in the U.S. and respected across the world. Enjoy these noteworthy moments from the last seven decades.
1947
Robert M. Brittingham founded the Dallas Ceramic Company while operating out of a simple Quonset hut in Dallas, TX.
1955
Juan R. Brittingham forms Ceramica Regiomontana, S.A. to manufacture ceramic tile in Monterrey, Mexico for sale in Mexico and the U.S. The company also opens its first Sales Service Center in Tampa, FL.

The 50th Sales Service Center opens in Reno NV.
1980
Dallas Ceramic Company changes its name to Dal-Tile Corporation. Dal-Tile purchases Keystone Ridgeway, a manufacturer of unglazed ceramic mosaic tiles.
1983
Dal-Tile acquires Edilgress USA. Their manufacturing facility in Conroe, TX is one of the only producers of 8" x 8" floor tile in the U.S.

Mohawk Industries completes its acquisition of The Marazzi Group, a global leader in ceramic tile based in Italy with worldwide brand recognition for its Marazzi and Ragno brands. The integration of Marazzi's U.S. operations into Dal-Tile is completed.
